MTS Awarded Air Combat Command Indirect-Fire Forward Air Controller Trainer (I-FACT) Contract
Released: Friday, August 29, 2008

Arlington, VA -- MTS was awarded an Air Combat Command (ACC) contract on August 20, 2008 for one Type Accreditation and multiple Site Accreditations of the Indirect-Fire Forward Air Controller Trainer (I-FACT). The Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract effort includes acquiring Designated Approving Authority (DAA) approval of 38 separate Special Operations units that include the US Army, US Air Force, and the Air Force reserves worldwide.

The 12-month contract provides a unique avenue for MTS to begin work with Special Operations units and to build a relationship with the Air Force Reserves. “MTS earned this unique opportunity by leveraging its experience with the Distributed Mission Operations Network (DMON),” said Donny Clayton, MTS IA Program Manager. “Our team hit a home run with this one; from the networking skills of Mr. Paul Bernhardt to the proposal writing skills of our analysts.” MTS will begin its work with ACC in early September 2008.

MTS Technologies, Inc. is Awarded the 2008 James S. Cogswell Award for Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement
Released: Thursday, June 19, 2008

Arlington, VA -- The Defense Security Service (DSS) announced on June 9, 2008, that MTS Technologies, Inc. (MTS) was selected as a recipient of the 2008 Cogswell Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the industrial security field. Of nearly 12,000 cleared contractors, only 23 were selected to receive this honor. This award signifies MTS'commitment to maintaining security program standards that exceed basic National Industrial Security Program (NISP) requirements, in addition to providing leadership to other cleared facilities. The award will be formally presented to MTS by the DSS at the National Classification Management Society Conference at Foxwoods Resort in Connecticut on June 18, 2008.

The Cogswell Award, established in 1966, is named in honor of the late Air Force Col. James S. Cogswell, the first chief of industrial security within the Department of Defense. Cogswell was responsible for developing the basic principles of the Industrial Security Program, which include an emphasis on the partnership between industry and government to protect classified information. This partnership ultimately ensures the greatest protection for the U.S. war fighter and our Nation’s classified information.

The Cogswell Award selection process is rigorous. A DSS Industrial Security Representative may only nominate facilities that have, at a minimum, two consecutive Superior industrial security review ratings and show a sustained degree of excellence and innovation in their overall security program management, implementation and oversight. The Cogswell Award is given for outstanding achievement in matters related exclusively to a facility’s security program.
