Mr. Perkins has always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, running his own shoe shine business at the age of 12, and then a carwash. Since his childhood in Johnstown, PA, it was inevitable that he would start his own major corporation.

Daniel T. Perkins, owner and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTS Technologies, Inc. (MTS), has over 30 years of professional experience in commercial and government industries. Since its start in 1991, Mr. Perkins has successfully transitioned MTS from a small minority-owned business to a growing, technology-focused industry leader. MTS ranked on the Black Enterprise Magazine's BE Top 100s list in 2004, 2005, and 2007. MTS has received many accolades, awards, and recognition from top government officials and other leaders attesting to its success and the level of service the Firm provides.
As the Chairman/CEO of MTS, Mr. Perkins oversees the implementation of corporate strategy and engages in major policy, operations, and business development issues.
He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and has a Masters Degree from Pepperdine University. Prior to founding MTS, Mr. Perkins served in executive, management, and board positions at Dual & Associates and Booz Allen & Hamilton. He has also served as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps, retiring with the rank of Major in 2000.
Mr. Perkins is active in civic and professional organizations. He is the founder of The Challenge Program, a non-profit organization designed to build a bridge between students in high school and the business community. The program provides incentives to students for successes they achieve while in school and develops relationships between the students and local business leaders. Established in 2003, the organization started as a pilot program in just one school; now there are currently over 100 schools involved. The Challenge Program has had a measurable affect on students by renewing their focus on achieving higher grades and improving attendance as well as increasing community service.
